  5. VSCIM486 implements the i486 with extensive memory and I/O capability on the
  6. VMEbus to offer a cost-effective standalone solution for many industrial
  7. computing applications. Chips and Technologies' PEAK-DM chipset provides 100%
  8. compatibility with PCATs. In addition to a full VME interface, the board
  9. includes ports to a mezzanine bus and STEbus. VSCIM486 can be populated with up
  10. to 68Mbytes of dynamic RAM, 2Mbytes of which is dual-ported to VME. For high
  11. computational throughput, the board can optionally be fitted with 256K
  12. high-speed static RAM for use as a direct-mapped cache. Further hardware
  13. includes up to 128kbytes of battery-backed static RAM which is dual-ported to
  14. STE, a 32-pin EPROM, a 10254x768-resolution/256-colour super VGA graphics
  15. controller with 1Mbyte of 80-nsec video RAM, floppy -disk and IDE hard-disk
  16. controllers, keyboard interface, COM1/2 serial and LPTI parallel ports,
  17. battery-backed real-time clock, watchdog timer, and loudspeaker output.
